Radiologist of the Month april 2022

Congratulations Dr. Mario Finazzo, you are our Radiologist of the Month of April 2022!

Can you give us a short background on yourself and your passion for radiology?

After my degree in medicine, in the long-gone 1992, I chose to become a diagnostic radiologist because I didn’t have the flair for surgery and didn’t like internal medicine. During my first year of residency, I attended the annual meeting of the Italian Society of Thoracic Radiology and I saw a presentation about MR imaging of the thoracic aorta. I was so impressed by those images that I said to myself: “I wanna do that! ”.
So I devoted myself to Cardiovascular MR imaging and then to coronary CT angiography and CTA of the thoracic and abdominal aorta, pulmonary arteries, peripheral vessels, circle of Willis, and so on. Actually, the scope of my daily work is much wider spanning from Body Imaging ( US, CT, MR imaging) to MSK MR imaging and X-Ray.

How did you find out about Collective Minds?

I find Collective Minds thanks to Darren Field. He disclosed to me a whole world of radiological cases I can evaluate as if I were attending a hands-on workshop, at home.

What would you like to see added to the service?

I would like to see more Cardiovascular MR and coronary CT angiography cases.

I definitely think so, because there are a lot of passionate radiologists from all over the world there, who are ready to suggest you the right diagnosis.
